Upgrading from Vemail 2.0 to the Latest Version
The latest Vemail version costs the same as Vemail 2.0. If you have a monthly
subscription, there is no additional cost to upgrade. Here are the steps:
-
If you have any contacts in your Vemail Address Book then you should
back them up to the Vemail Server by going to the Vemail Main Screen,
then Address Book, then Import Contacts, then Retrieve.
The Import Contacts feature actually does a kind of contact sync with the Vemail Server.
-
Write down your Vemail User Number and Vemail PIN.
You may be prompted for the PIN every time you start Vemail,
and the User Number should also appear on that screen.
You can also find this information under Settings.
Both the User Number and PIN are all numbers.
-
Delete the Vemail software off of your phone. On the same screen in
the phone from which you start Vemail there should be an option to
manage applications. That option should let you delete or cancel
subscriptions.
-
Now that Vemail 2.0 is deleted, the latest Vemail version should appear on the list
of products available for download.
For the location of Vemail on the phone see:
http://www.voicegenesis.com/vemail/download.htm
-
Start Vemail on your phone, and move through Tips and
Intro screens to the Main Screen.
From there select Settings, then Import Settings.
-
If you have upgraded to Vemail 2.10,
your Vemail User Number is now called Vemail Account Number.
So, enter your Vemail User Number into the Vemail Account Number field and enter your Vemail PIN.
If you are on a later version of Vemail 2.0,
you will still see Vemail User Number.
Enter your Vemail User Number and Vemail PIN.
Submit.
Your Vemail settings will be retrieved from the Server.
-
If you had contacts in the Vemail Address Book, here is how to get
them back. From the Vemail Main Screen, go to Address Book, then Import
Contacts, then Retrieve. Your contacts will be imported from the Server.
Congratulations, you have completed the upgrade process.
